Uzbekistan and Malaysia Strengthen Cooperation to Expand Women’s Economic Empowerment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Orzigul Kozikhonova, Chairperson of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Youth, Women, Culture, and Sports, held a meeting with Norazizah binti Borhan, President of the Malaysian International Women Entrepreneurs Association.

During the discussion, special attention was paid to issues related to expanding the rights and opportunities of youth and women across various spheres of social and economic life. The parties thoroughly explored prospects for bilateral cooperation in women’s entrepreneurship, as well as potential joint initiatives and future plans.

The senator emphasized that, thanks to the strong political will of the President of Uzbekistan, a large-scale reform program is being implemented in the country aimed at improving the political and legal framework, stimulating the development of women’s entrepreneurship, creating employment opportunities, and providing comprehensive support for women in business.

In turn, the head of the Malaysian association expressed high appreciation for the democratic transformations underway in Uzbekistan and noted the country’s efforts to expand women’s participation in entrepreneurial activities, strengthen their economic independence, and develop their leadership potential. She underscored the importance of further deepening cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan to implement joint programs and projects supporting women’s business.
