Uzbekistan and Luxembourg strengthen interparliamentary dialogue

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Gayrat Fazilov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries, held a meeting with Yves Kruchten, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Relations of Luxembourg’s Chamber of Deputies, according to the information agency «Dunyo».

During the talks, both sides discussed prospects for taking interparliamentary cooperation to a new level, emphasizing mutual interest in its further development. Special attention was given to the outcomes of Luxembourg’s delegation participation in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Tashkent, which participants considered an important foundation for activating bilateral dialogue.

As a continuation of this process, the “Uzbekistan–Luxembourg” friendship group was established in December 2025 within the Oliy Majlis, chaired by Alisher Agzamhodzhaev, Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments, and Tourism.

To further energize cooperation, the parties agreed to hold another round of negotiations between the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg. Additionally, they decided to explore organizing a visit of the Luxembourg parliamentary delegation to Uzbekistan, which is seen as the next step in strengthening interparliamentary contacts.
