Uzbekistan and Latvia Expand Cooperation in Social Protection

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Jamshid Abruev, Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection, held a meeting with Ingus Alliks, State Secretary of the Ministry of Welfare of Latvia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Latvia’s best practices in social protection, key directions for developing Uzbekistan’s social support system, the implementation of social insurance, and the provision and evaluation of targeted assistance.

The Latvian side expressed readiness to share experience in managing pension systems, developing social services, implementing digital solutions, and training personnel.

Following the discussions, both sides agreed to identify specific areas for cooperation and continue professional exchanges to implement best practices and strengthen support for vulnerable populations in both countries.
