Uzbekistan and Latvia Discuss Expanding Trade, Economic, and Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 March, a series of events took place in Tashkent aimed at strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia.

During the visit of the Latvian delegation, Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks with Latvia’s Minister of Transport Atis Švinka, the 9th session of the Uzbek-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission was held, and a Uzbek-Latvian Business Forum brought together government officials and business representatives from both countries.

The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation, industrial collaboration, expansion of transport and logistics routes between Central Asia and the European Union, as well as engagement in digital technologies, the agro-industrial sector, and education.

In 2025, bilateral trade reached US$273.2 million, and both sides confirmed their commitment to increase it to US$500 million in the medium term.

During the events, a Memorandum on the resumption of the Uzbek-Latvian and Latvian-Uzbek Business Councils was signed, along with an Action Plan to strengthen economic cooperation.

B2B meetings were held, resulting in agreements to develop joint projects in logistics, industry, the agro-industrial sector, and the digital economy.
