According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, the meeting will be held in Ferghana. The delegation of Uzbekistan will be headed by the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, and Kyrgyzstan by Prime Minister Sapar Isakov.
During the meeting of the first Council, it is planned to discuss issues of development of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
It should be reminded that the Council was established in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on establishment of the Council of Plenipotentiaries of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the border areas and hokims of the border regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The document was signed in Bishkek during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 5-6 September 2017. The document is aimed at developing contacts at the interregional level and expanding cooperation between the border regions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
