Uzbekistan and Kuwaiti Investors Discuss Creation of an Islamic Bank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 October, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Shokhrukh Gulamov and a delegation from Kuwait’s Noor Financial Investment Company, led by Senior Vice President for Alternative Investments Abdullah Al-Khouli.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of finance, industry, energy, and infrastructure, as well as the potential participation of the Kuwaiti company in investment projects across Uzbekistan.

Special attention was given to the development of Islamic banking and the establishment of a new Islamic bank in Uzbekistan with the participation of Noor Financial Investment Company.

Members of the Kuwaiti delegation highly praised the results of Uzbekistan’s ongoing economic reforms and expressed their readiness to take an active part in investment initiatives aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in further developing the partnership and agreed to continue practical collaboration.
