Uzbekistan and Kuwait Discuss Measures to Actively Promote Tourism Potential
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the International Tourism Forum “Uzbekistan – Kuwait,” a meeting was held between Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Muhammad Al-Mutairi, Chairman of the Kuwait Travel and Tourism Agencies Association.
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism. Particular attention was given to increasing tourist exchanges, developing joint tourism products, and promoting winter, mountain, and eco-tourism.
Muhammad Al-Mutairi expressed strong interest in Uzbekistan from the Kuwaiti travel community, noting the country’s vast potential due to its rich historical and cultural heritage and its unique destinations such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
Both sides expressed their readiness to facilitate the organization of familiarization and press tours for Kuwaiti tour operators and media representatives, as well as to strengthen business ties between the tourism institutions of both countries.
The importance of establishing direct flights between Tashkent and Kuwait City was especially emphasized as a key factor in boosting tourist flows. In this context, the parties discussed the potential launch of regular air routes to simplify logistics and improve accessibility to tourist destinations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides reached an agreement to deepen cooperation and implement joint initiatives aimed at promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the Kuwaiti market.
