Uzbekistan and Krasnoyarsk Krai to Deepen Cooperation in Trade, Logistics, and Education
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, Aslam Akbarov, held a working meeting with the First Deputy Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Sergey Ponomarenko, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the talks, the Deputy Governor commended the current level of interregional cooperation between Krasnoyarsk Krai and Surkhandarya Region of Uzbekistan and expressed strong interest in further deepening long-term trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and investment ties.
Among the top priorities was the optimization of the Uzbekistan–Krasnoyarsk Krai logistics chain, with plans to establish a dedicated transport and logistics center for the supply of Uzbek fruits and vegetables.
For his part, Aslam Akbarov emphasized the need to expand the presence of Uzbek products in the region. He also proposed the establishment of a baby food production facility in Uzbekistan and the supply of equipment and materials for Krasnoyarsk Krai’s textile industry.
The Russian side noted the growing interest among local tour operators in organizing trips to Uzbekistan, particularly along gastronomic, ethnographic, and historical-cultural routes.
The two parties also discussed the potential for expanding educational cooperation, including an increase in the number of state-funded and scholarship-based university placements for Uzbek students at leading institutions in Krasnoyarsk Krai.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to expand industrial cooperation, organize a business forum in Krasnoyarsk with the participation of entrepreneurs from Surkhandarya, Fergana, and Samarkand regions, and to host a business mission of Krasnoyarsk entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan in the fall, along with an information tour for leading tour operators from the region.
