Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with Beibut Atamkulov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.

During the talks, the parties discussed ways to elevate agricultural cooperation between the two brotherly countries to a higher level.

Special attention was given to ensuring food security in Central Asia. In this context, the initiative to create a unified regional information platform by 2030 was discussed, which will enable countries to effectively coordinate production, storage, and distribution of food products.

The meeting also covered prospects for exchanging expertise in plant breeding and animal husbandry, as well as expanding scientific collaboration. Concrete proposals were made for joint projects aimed at enhancing the genetic potential of livestock and developing high-yield breeds.

Additionally, the parties discussed the development of organic farming, cultivation and processing of oilseed crops, and joint measures to adapt to climate change.

It was emphasized that strengthening strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in agriculture is crucial for food security, environmental safety, and sustainable development across the Central Asian region.
