Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan align positions on trade and industrial cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 February, the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, as well as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Kuantyrov and Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev.
The discussions focused on key aspects of bilateral cooperation aimed at strengthening economic ties, increasing trade volumes, and fostering industrial collaboration between the two countries.
A constructive exchange of views helped identify priority tasks for the near future, including lifting trade restrictions, establishing quotas for agricultural exports, implementing electronic systems for certifying the origin of goods, and modernizing border checkpoints.
Special attention was given to accelerating the work of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" and finalizing a program to boost bilateral trade volume to US$10 billion.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the swift implementation of the agreements reached, setting clear deadlines and assigning responsible parties.
