Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 October, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by its Chairperson M.Ashimbaev.
During the meeting, issues of developing inter-parliamentary relations, strengthening Uzbek-Kazakh mutually beneficial relations, as well as regional cooperation mechanisms in Central Asia as a whole were discussed. It was emphasized that for the qualitative implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders of the region, it is necessary to intensify the inter-parliamentary dialogue through the implementation of specific actions on issues of the economy, tourism and rule-making.
During the dialogue, high dynamics of interaction and trusting contacts between the regions of the two countries were also noted, a striking example of which is the holding of forums of interregional cooperation on a regular basis.
In particular, T. Narbaeva noted that under these conditions, inter-parliamentary relations in bilateral and multilateral formats should serve to strengthen the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction between the two countries. In this regard, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan intends to continue to make every effort to strengthen cooperation with the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is firmly focused on maximizing the existing potential of bilateral relations of mutual interest.
In turn, during the meeting, M. Ashimbaev noted the effectiveness and efficiency of the meetings of the Commission for Cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which are a significant result of new formats of interaction in the Central Asian region.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to hold a business forum in 2023 in Tashkent, with the participation of women representatives of the business community of Kazakhstan, as well as to take measures to develop cooperation in the field of transport, healthcare and regional tourism, in particular by developing new routes in within the framework of the practical implementation of the joint program "One tour - the whole region".
