Uzbekistan and Jordan Discuss Expanding Trade Relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 March, a virtual meeting was held between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yarub Quda.

During the discussion, both sides reviewed the current state of trade and explored opportunities for further expansion of bilateral economic cooperation. Special attention was given to collaboration in agriculture, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the adoption of modern technological solutions in digital medicine.

It was noted that in 2025, bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Jordan grew by 79.2%. Currently, 18 enterprises with Jordanian capital operate within Uzbekistan.

The meeting also focused on preparations for the next session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation and the progress of negotiations on a preferential trade agreement. Signing the agreement is expected to boost mutual trade, enhance business contacts, and strengthen economic ties.

Following the meeting, representatives of both countries confirmed their commitment to deepening practical cooperation and agreed to continue active dialogue on key areas of bilateral collaboration.
