Uzbekistan and Jordan Agree on Joint Mineral Fertilizer Production
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Jordan have agreed to implement joint projects for the production of potassium and phosphate fertilizers, Odil Temirov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Uzkimyosanoat,” told Uzbekiston 24 TV channel.
According to Temirov, the agreements were reached during negotiations and a business forum with representatives from both countries. He emphasized that Uzbekistan possesses potassium and phosphate deposits, creating favorable conditions for launching joint production facilities.
“We have proposed to Jordanian companies to combine efforts to implement these projects,” he noted.
Temirov also highlighted that Jordan has large production capacities for processing phosphate and potassium, primarily for export. At the same time, the country imports nitrogen fertilizers from Egypt and Saudi Arabia, whereas Uzbekistan has a developed nitrogen production industry.
In addition, the Uzbek side proposed expanding cooperation through the export of chemical products, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and soda ash.
