Uzbekistan and Italy Expand Cooperation in Social Protection
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Rome between Mansurbek Olloyorov, Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Marina Elvira Calderone, Minister of Labour and Social Policies of Italy.
The parties discussed national and regional social protection systems, as well as prospects for further cooperation. Special attention was given to exchanging experience in improving the quality of social services, developing programs to engage vulnerable groups, enhancing social insurance systems, and strengthening the capacity of social workers.
Italian practices in inclusive employment, professional training, and the involvement of the third sector in providing social services also attracted particular interest.
During the negotiations, the possibility of signing a framework cooperation agreement was considered, which would become an important step toward deepening the partnership between Uzbekistan and Italy in the social sphere.
The meeting was held in a constructive and substantive atmosphere, confirming the mutual interest of both sides in strengthening dialogue and developing joint initiatives.
