Uzbekistan and India Discuss AI and Semiconductor Development at New Delhi Summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the international India AI Impact Summit 2026 held in New Delhi, representatives from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance participated in a series of strategic meetings focused on the development of artificial intelligence, the semiconductor industry, and digital infrastructure.

The summit addressed practical cooperation with leading Indian organizations within the framework of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

During a meeting with the leadership of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an agreement was reached to provide free online training in IC design for 100 Uzbek specialists. Both sides expressed readiness to sign a corresponding Memorandum of Understanding.

Additionally, discussions with representatives of the India Semiconductor Mission and India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology covered prospects for developing the semiconductor industry, expanding computing capacities, and establishing infrastructure for artificial intelligence.

Special attention was given to the development of Uzbekistan’s electronics and semiconductor sectors, expanding scientific and technical cooperation, training qualified specialists, and implementing joint projects for technology transfer.

The agreements reached are expected to support the creation of a high-tech ecosystem in Uzbekistan, accelerate AI-driven economic growth, and strengthen the country’s integration into global technology value chains.
