Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction, Botir Zakhidov, held a meeting with Mia Seppo, Deputy Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The discussions focused on reducing informal employment, with both sides agreeing to jointly develop standards for emerging professions, simplify employment contracts, and engage ILO experts to support the implementation of new social protection mechanisms for workers.

Minister Zakhidov also met with Marcelo Abi-Ramia Caetano, Secretary General of the International Social Security Association (ISSA).

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at promoting employment, enhancing social protection, and creating decent working conditions for all citizens.

The dialogue also covered the digitalization of the sector and plans to organize joint webinars to facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building in the field of social protection and labor policy.
