Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the 113th Session of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and head of the National Commission on Combating Human Trafficking and Ensuring Decent Work, Tanzila Narbayeva, held a meeting with ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo.

The meeting focused on the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ILO, as well as key initiatives and projects being jointly implemented.

It was noted that agreements signed annually with the ILO—covering environmental issues, labor rights, and other areas—are being systematically implemented. Furthermore, the reforms underway in Uzbekistan as part of its “Strategy – 2030” are fully aligned with the ILO’s key principles and priority areas.

The two sides also exchanged views on the implementation of the Decent Work Country Programme for Uzbekistan for 2021–2025, reaffirming their commitment to advancing labor standards and protecting workers’ rights.
