Uzbekistan and Hungary Expand Interregional Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of efforts to strengthen trade, economic, and cultural ties between the regions of Uzbekistan and Hungary, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Oybek Shakhavdinov visited the southeastern Békés region, according to the Dunyo news agency.
Békés is an important agricultural center in Hungary, actively producing grains, corn, sunflower, and vegetables. The region is also known for its developed processing industry and plays a key role in trade and logistics due to its favorable geographical location and well-developed infrastructure.
The purpose of the visit was to expand cooperation between Sirdaryo Region and Békés Province, as well as to launch joint projects across various economic sectors.
During the visit, the ambassador held talks with regional leadership, representatives of the provincial assembly, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A roundtable discussion on “Prospects for Trade and Investment Cooperation between Sirdaryo Region and Békés Province” was also held, with participation from Hungarian business representatives.
Regional authorities emphasized that friendly relations between the countries provide a solid foundation for interregional collaboration. Special attention was given to the significance of the Uzbek delegation’s visit, which contributes to strengthening practical cooperation and opening new partnership avenues.
Prospects for implementing joint projects in agriculture, product processing, logistics, industry, and cultural exchange were discussed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed on organizing reciprocal visits, business forums, establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs, and signing memoranda of cooperation.
