Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 June, a meeting was held with Emin Hisarcıklıoğlu, a member of the Board of Directors of Hisarciklioglu Group.

The meeting was attended by Bobur Egamov, head of the group responsible for implementing the joint projects “Rural Infrastructure Development,” “Sustainable Rural Development,” and “Integrated Rural Development”; Ziyoviddin Badridinov, Director of the National Agency for Energy Efficiency; as well as several other officials.

At the start of the meeting, the Turkish side was presented with information on the efforts underway in Uzbekistan to improve energy efficiency, the measures being taken to attract private companies to this sector, and the country's strategic goals in this area.

In addition, the Uzbek side briefed participants on energy efficiency projects in social infrastructure facilities that are being implemented as part of the “Clean Energy for Buildings in Uzbekistan” (CEBU) project in collaboration with the World Bank.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached with Emin Hisarcıklıoğlu to develop cooperation in the field of energy efficiency and energy saving in Uzbekistan. In particular, the parties agreed to attract experienced Turkish ESCO-format companies to the country and to hold follow-up meetings on energy and carbon audits.

It was also noted that representatives of Hisarciklioglu Group will conduct research within the project, and in the event that new companies are identified for potential collaboration, the Uzbek side will be informed accordingly.
