Uzbekistan and GIZ Launch Project to Develop Dual Vocational Education
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 1 December, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan signed an agreement with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) to implement the TexVET-II project, aimed at supporting reforms and modernizing the vocational education system.
The project focuses on dual education, where technical college students combine classroom learning with practical work experience.
The main objectives of the initiative are to align educational programs with labor market needs, improve the quality of specialist training, expand opportunities for women to gain professional skills, and increase their incomes.
Under TexVET-II, international experts will modernize dual education programs, employers will participate in workforce training, and the material and technical base of technical colleges will be strengthened.
The project also aims to enhance practical skills among youth and prepare highly qualified specialists for the labor market.
