Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 June 2025, a meeting took place in Tashkent between Umid Abidkhadzhaev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Urs Daniel Engels, Head of Energy Policy, Green Energy Transition, and Energy Efficiency at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for deepening their partnership in the field of sustainable development, including the transition to a green economy, improvements in energy efficiency, the development of renewable energy sources, and urban decarbonization.

Particular attention was given to the creation of infrastructure for green energy, the introduction of modern energy-saving technologies in public institutions such as schools, medical facilities, and kindergartens, as well as the development and implementation of climate-neutral city models.

The German side noted Uzbekistan’s consistent and pragmatic approach to sustainable growth, emphasizing the significance of these efforts in the context of the global energy transition. German representatives expressed readiness to continue supporting the development and implementation of energy-efficient solutions, sharing expertise, and promoting joint projects aimed at reducing emissions and expanding renewable energy.
