Uzbekistan and Germany Discuss Expanding Agricultural Cooperation and German Technology Transfer
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held talks with Hermann Ferber, a member of the German Bundestag and the Committee on Agriculture, Food, and Homeland Protection.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for deepening agricultural cooperation, exchanging expertise, and implementing new joint initiatives between the two countries.
Existing collaborative projects were also reviewed, including educational programs, internships, and technical cooperation. German experience was noted as particularly valuable in implementing modern technologies and aligning the educational system with practical training for specialists.
Special attention was given to the development of a dual education system, where students combine theoretical knowledge at universities with hands-on experience directly in production environments.
As a new initiative, the parties proposed a program allowing young Uzbek farmers and agricultural students to undertake internships in Germany to acquire international experience and best practices.
Additionally, opportunities were discussed to expand cooperation in livestock farming, digital agriculture, and aquaculture, as well as the introduction of German technologies to increase efficiency in Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.
In conclusion, Minister Abdurakhmonov emphasized Uzbekistan’s readiness to establish long-term agricultural cooperation based on mutual trust and joint development.
