Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Shokhrukh Daliyev, continues its working visit to Georgia.

As part of the trip, delegation members visited the Georgian Technical University and Telavi State University, where they held meetings with the rectors of these institutions, David Gurgenidze and Shalva Chkadu.

During the negotiations, it was noted that a joint educational program in the "2+2" format for the field of "Sericulture and Mulberry Cultivation" has been established based on a memorandum signed between Tashkent State Agrarian University and Georgian Technical University.

Following the discussions, agreements were reached on organizing short-term internships for faculty members and technical specialists, implementing joint educational programs, preparing funding applications, developing collaborative research projects, and establishing academic student exchanges.

Additionally, both sides agreed to create a system for training specialists in biology and biotechnology based on Georgia’s experience.

As part of the visit, an agreement on cooperation in tourism was signed between Tashkent State University of Economics and Telavi State University. Furthermore, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Tashkent State Agrarian University and Telavi State University, under which a joint "1+1" educational program in "Viticulture and Winemaking" is planned.

This visit is expected to contribute to the expansion of international cooperation in higher education and strengthen the integration of Uzbek universities into the global academic landscape.
