Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 April, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, met with Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Hanafy Ali El Gebaly.

The meeting focused on the prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Egypt. It was emphasized that Egypt is one of Uzbekistan’s reliable partners in the Middle East, and that the historical, cultural, and traditional ties between the peoples of both nations provide a solid foundation for further enhancing cooperation.

Particular attention was given to reinforcing parliamentary oversight to ensure the effective implementation of major agreements reached at the presidential level.

The parties stressed the importance of deepening cooperation between the upper chambers of the two countries' parliaments, revitalizing the activities of the Uzbekistan–Egypt inter-parliamentary friendship groups, and organizing joint events.

They also discussed improving the legislative framework to support bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Hanafy Ali El Gebaly signed the Guest Book of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
