Uzbekistan and Egypt Aim to Expand Cooperation in the Pharmaceutical Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 January, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Shokhrukh Gulamov, held a working meeting with Olfat Gorab, Chairman of the Egyptian state-owned pharmaceutical holding company ACDIMA.
The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, including the localization of drug production, technology transfer, and expanding the presence of Egyptian products in the Uzbek market.
The high potential of Uzbekistan as a regional hub for accessing Central Asian markets was noted. Special attention was given to establishing joint ventures involving Uzbek pharmaceutical companies, improving regulatory procedures, and accelerating the market launch of products.
The Uzbek side confirmed its readiness to provide comprehensive support for initiatives of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared interest in further developing practical cooperation and agreed to continue detailed work on promising areas of collaboration in the pharmaceutical sector.
