Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 June 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Akram Aliev and Remi Dion, Senior Advisor for Partner and Donor Engagement at the international organization CONNEX Support Unit.

The talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation aimed at improving the quality of preparation and support for investment agreements. Special attention was given to ensuring balanced terms in the implementation of large-scale investment projects in key sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, and mining.

One of the central topics of discussion was the potential involvement of international expert teams from CONNEX to provide comprehensive legal, economic, and environmental support. This assistance would cover all stages of the investment cycle — from preliminary analysis to the conclusion of complex investment agreements.

The CONNEX Support Unit is an international initiative of the G7 countries and operates under the auspices of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). It offers developing countries free technical, legal, and analytical support in the preparation and implementation of large-scale investment projects, particularly in the areas of natural resources, infrastructure development, and renewable energy.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed mutual interest in strengthening their partnership and confirmed their readiness to further cooperate in order to enhance the transparency, efficiency, and sustainability of investment processes in Uzbekistan.
