Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, visited the People’s Republic of China as part of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit.

During the visit, Minister Nazarbekov held a bilateral meeting with China’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Sun Yeli.

Ozodbek Nazarbekov noted that thanks to initiatives by the leaders of both countries, cooperation in the cultural sphere is steadily developing, and cultural exchanges between Uzbekistan and China are gradually expanding. Regular meetings of the ministers from both countries serve as a clear demonstration of friendly and mutually beneficial relations.

Particular attention was given to the recent meeting of the SCO member states’ ministers of culture, held on 7 July in Qingdao, China, which was marked by effective discussions.

During the visit, the governments of Uzbekistan and China signed a historic agreement on the establishment of cultural centers, opening new opportunities to expand bilateral cultural ties.

Minister Sun Yeli emphasized that relations between the two countries are developing rapidly not only in the economic, social, and educational spheres but also in culture. He highly appreciated the “Uzbek Culture Days” held in Beijing in 2024 and proposed organizing “Chinese Culture Days” in Uzbekistan this year.

Ozodbek Nazarbekov fully supported the initiative and promised to provide all necessary practical assistance from Uzbekistan’s side.

The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in joint cultural projects, cultural education, and investment initiatives, reaching an agreement to positively consider the proposals presented.
