Uzbekistan and China Launch High-Tech Agrotechnology Center
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The foundation has been laid for the national Uzbek High-Tech Agrotechnopark in Yangling, located in the Yukori-Chirchik district of Tashkent region.
The project is a joint initiative of the Uzbek government and China’s Yangling Modern Agriculture International Cooperation Group Co., Ltd., aimed at creating a modern agro-industrial hub that integrates advanced agricultural technologies, science, and production.
Spanning 116.5 hectares, the center will feature industrial and demonstration platforms, drone and robotics testing facilities, smart irrigation systems, 3D sowing laboratories, and cold-chain logistics infrastructure.
Drawing on experiences from China, Japan, and Italy, Uzbek scientists will develop new varieties of cotton, wheat, rice, corn, and grapes. Plans also include cultivating and processing tomatoes, nuts, and dried fruits on 500 hectares, as well as growing hard wheat and producing finished products on 5,000 hectares.
The initiative is expected to create new jobs, enhance export potential, and elevate Uzbekistan’s integration of science, technology, and production in agriculture.
