Uzbekistan and China ink agreements for US$6bn

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and China signed agreements for US$6 billion in the result of negotiations between President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of China Xi Jinping.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived in China with two-day state visit on 19 August 2014 at the invitation of President of China Xi Jinping.

After the talks, Islam Karimov and Xi Jinping signed a joint declaration between Uzbekistan and China.

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the sides also signed several documents directed at further developing technical-economic cooperation between two states, strengthening partnership in such spheres as energy, high technology, banking-finance.

Uzbekistan and China signed a programme for developing relations of strategic partnership for 2014-2018.

According to the Chinese side, the sides signed agreements on trade and loan to construction of natural gas pipelines and treatment plants worth US$6 billion.
