Uzbekistan and China Agree to Establish Industrial Parks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the “Uzcharmsanoat” Association, led by First Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade N. Kholmurodov, held talks with the Chinese company Guojian Zhanmao (Putian) Supply Chain Co., Ltd., specializing in leather and light industry.
The meeting focused on the creation of modern industrial parks for leather and textile production in four major regions of Uzbekistan: Bukhara, Navoi, Fergana, and Samarkand. The initial project cost is estimated at US$150 million, covering an area of 100 hectares. The plan includes not only production facilities but also the development of a centralized industrial hub for the entire region.
The project will feature solar panels to ensure sustainable energy supply, covering all internal needs and supplying excess electricity to neighboring organizations. This approach aims to meet modern environmental standards and serve as a model of sustainable development.
The leadership of Guojian Zhanmao plans to visit Uzbekistan in September to finalize legal and technical arrangements with government authorities.
The initiative is expected to strengthen industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, create new jobs in the regions, expand the country’s export potential, and boost the leather-textile sector.
