Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — British Petroleum and Uzbekistan held talks to expand bilateral energy cooperation. Uzbek Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov met with Michael Denison, Head of the International Development Department at BP, to discuss strategic collaboration, according to Dunyo news agency.

The British side praised the outcomes of a 26 February meeting between a delegation led by Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and BP executives, noting that the dialogue laid a strong foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of major investment and industrial initiatives.

BP expressed interest in establishing a systematic, long-term partnership in the energy sector. Priority areas include exploration and production of hydrocarbons, introduction of advanced technologies, and development of supporting infrastructure.

Officials highlighted that expanded cooperation would enhance Uzbekistan’s investment climate and strengthen the country’s energy potential.

Following the discussions, the BP delegation confirmed its readiness to participate at a high level in the V Tashkent International Investment Forum, expected to serve as a key platform for deepening bilateral collaboration and promoting new investment projects.
