Uzbekistan and Belarus Discuss Development of Cooperation in Mechanical Engineering

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed priority areas for cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering.

The talks were held between Andrey Kuznetsov, Minister of Industry of Belarus, and a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers of Industry of Belarus, Leonid Ryzhkovsky and Denis Bakey, as well as Rakhmatulla Nazarov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belarus and Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS. The discussions focused on the prospects for implementing joint cooperative projects in mechanical engineering.

The Belarusian side highlighted the high potential of bilateral cooperation and expressed interest in expanding collaboration with Uzbek partners. Priority areas identified include the development of industrial cooperation in agricultural machinery, supply of engines and mining equipment, and joint work in machine-tool production.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening production links, introducing advanced technologies, and jointly exploring new markets for their products. They confirmed their mutual commitment to intensifying cooperation, creating conditions for sustainable production growth, and exporting competitive Belarusian-Uzbek products.

The Ministry of Industry of Belarus noted that the negotiations were constructive and laid a solid foundation for the successful continuation of dialogue and the practical implementation of joint initiatives.
