Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan strengthen cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the latest annual meeting with USP partners, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Uzbekistan Pharmaceutical Product Safety Center and the Drug Expertise Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Dərman Vasitələrinin Ekspertiza Mərkəzi).
The Drug Expertise Center is one of the key regulatory bodies under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Health. It is responsible for assessing the safety, quality, and efficacy of medicines, biological products, and medical devices used within the country.
The memorandum outlines the establishment of bilateral practical cooperation and exchange of experience in areas such as pharmaceutical regulation, drug safety assurance, pharmacovigilance, scientific research, and professional development of specialists.
The signing of this memorandum marks an important step toward developing international collaboration in the pharmaceutical industry, strengthening bilateral ties, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and technology among sector participants. Special emphasis is placed on ensuring the safety and quality of medicinal products.
The parties agreed to implement joint projects, organize seminars and training sessions, and create effective mechanisms for information exchange within the framework of the signed agreement.
