Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Discuss Expansion of Bilateral Military Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 October, Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov visited Samarkand to participate in the “Senior Observer Day” as part of the regional military exercises “Unity − 2025,” the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense said.

During his visit, Hasanov met with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov.

The ministers discussed the current state and future prospects of military, military-technical cooperation, and collaboration in military education. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of joint exercises as a platform for sharing experience.

The meeting was also attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev. Both sides expressed high appreciation for the existing level of bilateral military cooperation and exchanged views on opportunities for its further expansion.
