Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis between Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the upper house of the Uzbek Parliament, and Bariza Khiari, Chair of the Board of the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH) and advisor to the President of France.

The discussion focused on ways to further strengthen Uzbek-French cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding their partnership in key areas such as the arts, intercultural dialogue, and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage.

Special attention was given to new restoration initiatives, youth engagement programs, and volunteer movements involved in safeguarding cultural heritage, as well as joint projects aimed at enhancing the professional development of specialists in this field.

The meeting also addressed the activation of interparliamentary cooperation, underpinned by regular bilateral visits and exchanges. The importance of strengthening collaboration through specialized parliamentary committees and interparliamentary friendship groups was particularly noted.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening the partnership, expanding cultural and artistic projects, and advancing intercultural dialogue—efforts that will contribute to greater friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Uzbekistan and France.
