Uzbekistan and Air Astana Discuss Expansion of Air Services and New Routes Between the Countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan held talks with representatives of the Kazakh airline Air Astana focused on the development of air connectivity between the two countries.

The discussions centered on the opening of new routes and increasing the frequency of existing flights, which, participants noted, will help stimulate tourist traffic and enhance transport and logistics capabilities.

During the negotiations, the Kazakh side was briefed on the extensive efforts underway in Uzbekistan to accelerate the development of tourism infrastructure, expand the network of modern hotels and cultural-entertainment facilities, and improve the accessibility of transport routes. Special emphasis was placed on the growing interest of foreign tourists in the country’s cultural and historical heritage, including Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.

The expansion of air services is expected to create additional opportunities for visiting new tourist attractions, modern museum and exhibition complexes, restored historical ensembles, and other contemporary tourism infrastructure.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides agreed to continue dialogue and develop concrete proposals within the framework of bilateral cooperation. Participants expressed confidence that joint efforts will further strengthen interaction and support the growth of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
