Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairman of the Committee for Highways under the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Tursunov, held talks with a delegation from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) led by Head of Investment Operations Konstantin Limitovskiy.

The meeting focused on ongoing projects supported by AIIB funding, as well as identifying new avenues for future collaboration in the development of Uzbekistan’s road infrastructure.

Jamshid Tursunov expressed gratitude to AIIB for its active involvement in major strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing the country's transport system.

The two sides reviewed progress on the reconstruction of a 78-kilometer section of the A380 highway (Guzar – Bukhara – Nukus – Beyneu, km 150–228), and exchanged views on ways to optimize project implementation.

Additionally, both parties agreed to launch a new project for the capital repair of 516.1 km of local public roads — 328.1 km in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and 188 km in the Khorezm region.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthening long-term cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure development.
