Uzbekistan and Afghanistan signed important agreements in agriculture and trade
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Abduzukhurov to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, significant agreements were reached on agricultural and trade-economic cooperation between the two countries.
Special attention was given to a meeting with the Governor of Balkh Province, Khoja Mohammad Yusuf Wafa, during which issues of bilateral trade, simplification of agricultural product export and import procedures, as well as plant quarantine and joint management were discussed.
The agreed document outlines not only the framework for bilateral cooperation but also mutual commitments in the areas of environmental sustainability in Central Asia and the management of transboundary water resources.
This visit can be seen as the beginning of a new era of close cooperation and economic integration with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. It also affirms Uzbekistan's resolute course toward maintaining regional peace, stable development, and ecological security.
Moreover, the discussed areas — agriculture, export-import, and quarantine measures — are intended not only to promote the mutual interests of both countries but also to positively impact the economic stability and ecological security of the entire Central Asian region.
