Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The National Power Grids of Uzbekistan (NEG) and the National Electricity Company of Afghanistan Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) signed a contract for the supply of electricity in 2022.
According to DABS, the parties signed the document after two days of negotiations in Tashkent. Within the framework of the document, Uzbekistan will supply 2 billion kWh of electricity to Afghanistan in the amount of US$100 million.
During the negotiations, the National Power Grids of Uzbekistan and DABS held negotiations on the implementation of the investment project "Construction of a 500 kV power transmission line" Surkhan - Puli-Khumri "in Afghanistan".
The Afghan side promised to cooperate with Uzbekistan in suspended projects and expressed its readiness to ensure the safety of the suspended projects.
