Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The International Week of Innovative Ideas "InnoWeek.Uz-2021" started in the capital on 23 November. The event is organized by the Ministry of Innovative Development.
It is attended by representatives of research and innovation centers, investment funds, technology agencies, technology parks and business incubators, as well as foreign guests.
At the opening, Minister of Innovative Development Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov expressed gratitude to the participants of the event and said that this week "InnoWeek.Uz-2021" will help to exchange experience, learn about new projects. Within the framework of the event, a rich program is planned until 27 November.
“2020 has indeed become a very serious challenge for the economy,” said a representative of a foreign delegation, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov. - In such conditions, innovative activity should be considered as a strategic issue of increasing the competitiveness of the economy. Market dynamics, in turn, also affect innovation processes. I would like to emphasize that it is necessary to act together in order to effectively confront the unstable phenomena of the world economy. That is why it is extremely important to hold such events, within the framework of which there is an opportunity to exchange accumulated experience and which contribute to the development of innovative activities in our countries.
This year’s InnoWeek.Uz-2021 week will focus on innovation, green technology and artificial intelligence in the post-pandemic.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov during his speech stressed that the country’s inability to introduce effective mechanisms, resource-saving technologies to support innovative ideas hinders development. In 2018-2020, US$135 million was allocated from the state budget in Uzbekistan for the development of science. InnoWeek.Uz is being held this year for the fourth time, in which 245 foreign companies from 110 countries of the world and more than 1000 representatives of research institutes with 660 innovative products took part during the entire period.
On the opening day, the forum "The Role of Innovation and Development of Technologies in Turkic Countries" was held. Experts from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan made reports.
A number of documents have been signed within the framework of InnoWeek.Uz-2021. In particular, an agreement on cooperation between the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and LLC National Venture Fund UzVC (UzVC), a memorandum of understanding between the innovative technopark Yashnabad and SJSC Technopark in the field of high technologies IT- a park".
An international innovation fair is open for the participants and guests of the event, which is held in the building of the Ministry of Innovative Development. On the ground floor, you can see scientific projects, stands of enterprises and organizations that work in the field of green energy. On the second floor, projects of universities, local entrepreneurs and participants in the technology marathon are presented. On the third floor there are stands of foreign developers, and on the fourth - products of the residents of the Yashnabad innovation technology park under the Ministry of Innovative Development.
At the same time, Technoways participants presented their projects on this day, and leaders with startups that will receive funding from investors will be determined on November 24.
