The statement of the airline said that some foreign electronic media reported on 20 November 2013 that Uzbekistan Havo Yollari refused to departure of the citizens of Uzbekistan from the country as they had debt before Uzdunrobita (MTS brand) and organizations, providing communal services.
The airline expressed its doubt for professionalism of the journalists, which publish incorrect information. The company said that the author of the articles did not learn legislation of Uzbekistan and failed to compare international practice on collection of debts.
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said that the citizens of Uzbekistan as the citizens of other countries should pay for communal service or other payments. In case of debt, the organizations can collect the debt, including in judicial order. In line with the decision of the court, the debtors can be banned from leaving the country, which is standard practice worldwide. The authorized bodies are obliged to implement the decisions of the courts, not the airports as indicated in the articles, the statement said.
The airline called the author to check and analyze information before publishing the articles and not to mislead the readers.
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari said the readers should not pay attention to such reports and said that departure of the citizens can be limited if they violate legislation or did not execute liabilities, imposed by the courts.
The airline requests representatives of the mass media to check the facts before publication of the articles.
