Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first charter flight since May 2015 on the route Tashkent-Kiev-Tashkent took place on 26 September, the Dunyo news agency reported.
According to the information of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a solemn welcome of the flight arriving from Tashkent took place at the Kiev airport Borispol, in which the management of the air harbor took part.
Ukrainian representatives warmly welcomed the crew of the Uzbek airliner and said that the airport management will make every effort to organize high-quality service for Uzbekistan Airways flights and hopes to increase the number of flights between Tashkent and Kiev.
In particular, it was noted that the organization of a charter flight will serve as a good reason for the aviation authorities of the two countries to settle the differences that arose several years ago and resume regular flights, without which the development of tourism is impossible.
In turn, representatives of the Uzbek side expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the crew, and also noted their interest in building up bilateral cooperation with Ukraine.
In particular, the regional representative of Uzbekistan Airways, Ulugbek Isaev, who arrived from Minsk to Kiev to meet the first charter flight, spoke about the ongoing systematic work to increase passenger traffic in the Ukrainian direction and the readiness of the Uzbek airline to constructively solve all the contradictions and problems that hinder the organization of full-fledged flights between two countries.
For their part, the Ukrainian representatives presented their vision for the implementation of the charter flights program with the prospect of increasing them during the peak tourist seasons.
