Uzbekistan Airways: Aiming for Modernization and Expansion in 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — After a successful 2024, Uzbekistan Airways is setting ambitious goals for 2025, focusing on modernization, enhancing service quality, and expanding its route network. The airline plans to implement new technologies and safety standards, develop domestic and regional flights, and strengthen its position in the global market, with the aim of becoming a leader in Central Asia.
Among the plans for 2025 is the launch of new routes, including the resumption of flights to Madrid in April. Chairman Shukhrat Khudaikulov emphasized that the company’s priority remains the comfort, safety, and confidence of passengers at every stage of their journey. He highlighted the vital role aviation plays in the modern business environment, connecting strategic goals with tangible achievements.
“2024 was a year of significant successes for Uzbekistan Airways. We were not only able to increase passenger traffic but also expand our route network, add new aircraft to our fleet, and introduce new services, all of which contributed to the high quality of service for our passengers. 2025 is the year of new horizons and ambitious plans. We will continue to work to ensure that our passengers feel as comfortable, safe, and confident as possible at every stage of their journey. In a dynamic business environment, aviation is the backbone that connects vision with reality and turns strategic goals into tangible achievements,” said Shukhrat Khudaikulov, Chairman of the Board.
Key Achievements of 2024:
Passenger Traffic: More than 6 million passengers were transported (6,007,151), a 19% increase from 2023.
Number of Flights: Over 40,000 flights were completed (40,416), a 25% increase from 2023.
Cargo Transportation: 59,276 tons of cargo were transported, a 22% increase from 2023.
Seat Occupancy Rate: Reached 83.1%, compared to 81.1% in 2023.
Fleet Expansion: The fleet was supplemented with five new aircraft: two A320neo, two ATR-72, and one LET-410. The contract for two A-330 aircraft was extended.
New Routes: New flights were launched from Tashkent to Sanya, Phu Quoc, Makhachkala, Nizhnevartovsk, Hangzhou, Hurghada, Nha Trang, and Goa; from Nukus to Istanbul and Almaty; from the Fergana Valley to St. Petersburg. Flights were resumed from Tashkent to Rome, Mumbai, and Lahore, as well as from Karshi to St. Petersburg. Flight frequencies were increased on popular routes.
Pilot School: The first graduates of the pilot school at the Training Center received certificates and became second pilots on Boeing 767.
Anniversary of "Uzbekistan Airways Technics": The airline’s technical center marked its 100th anniversary.
Uzbekistan Airways continues to develop its route network, which now includes over 99 destinations, including 8 domestic routes.
The airline reaffirms its position as a leader in Central Asia, ensuring safety, reliability, and a high level of service.
