Uzbekistan Advances Digital Logistics at St. Petersburg Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the International Transport Logistics Forum in St. Petersburg, Uzbekistan highlighted its readiness to become a reliable partner in shaping the new transport architecture of Eurasia.

During the plenary session on “International Transport Corridors: Integration and Continuous Logistics Chain,” Uzbek Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov presented the country’s key initiatives to modernize regional transport and logistics infrastructure.

Special emphasis was placed on digital solutions. Uzbekistan proposed using the E-Permit platform as the foundation for a unified transcontinental electronic document management system, enabling integration of national systems and creating a “digital trust” framework.

The country also advocates for the full integration of E-Permit, E-TIR, and e-CMR systems across Eurasia. The initiative aims to implement the “data before cargo” principle, automating customs operations, minimizing human error, and securing document flows from unauthorized interference.

Given the growth in trade volumes, Uzbekistan also proposed a mechanism for mutual recognition of transit declarations and other permits. A “full trust” regime between customs administrations would reduce operational costs for businesses and transform borders into high-tech channels for seamless cargo movement.

Makhkamov highlighted the importance of harmonizing legal standards and tariff policies within international organizations, noting that legal and technical interoperability is essential to ensure reliable, secure, and door-to-door supply chains.
