Uzbekistan adopts rules of conduct for state officials
Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved the standard rules on 2 March 2016 with its resolution.
The Government entrusted local state bodies to develop departmental rules of conduct for their employees and a regulation on Commission of ethics and its personal structure.
The departmental rules of conduct should not contradict to standard rules or set harsher requirements, the resolution said. The violation of the rules can serve as bases for disciplinary or other punishments.
According to the rules, the state officials should fully comply with the state principles and requirements, as well as fully and in timely manner to execute orders of the state bodies and officials.
State officials should not discriminate people, groups or organizations. They should also respect customs and traditions of the people. They should also avoid conflict situations, which can harm reputation of the state bodies.
The officials should not use their position to impact to the activities of the state bodies, other organizations and officials, as well as citizens.
The state officials are also banned to receive gifts or other benefits from individuals and legal entities. They should fight corruption.
The rules will also regulate issues related to dress code of the state officials and their behavior after work time. The rules said that the state officials cannot carry out entrepreneurship activities.
