Uzbekhydroenergo recognized as a leader in ESG rankings in Central Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The international agency Sustainable Fitch has awarded JSC Uzbekhydroenergo an ESG rating of "2" (increasing the overall score from 65 to 72 points), making the company a leader in this category in Central Asia.
The rating increase is due to the positive environmental impact of hydropower on the climate, as well as improvements in governance and social indicators in 2023.
The company’s activities in expanding its capacities contribute to achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 7.2 (increasing the share of renewable energy).
Sustainable Fitch ESG ratings assess the environmental, social, and governance performance of companies on a scale from 1 to 5 (with 1 being the highest level).
