Uzbek Woman Hospitalized After Falling from Fourth Floor in Izmir

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul reports that 22-year-old Uzbek citizen Sevdora Hakimdzhonova from Namangan region sustained serious injuries after falling from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Izmir, where she resided.

She is currently receiving treatment in a state hospital, and her condition is described as critical.

It was established that Hakimdzhonova was married under Islamic rites to a Turkish citizen, although the marriage was not officially registered. The ceremony took place in Chust district of Namangan region. Both Hakimdzhonova and her spouse have hearing and speech impairments.

Turkish authorities have initiated a criminal investigation into the incident. Investigative actions are underway to clarify the circumstances, with the case being reviewed by the local prosecutor’s office.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul remains in constant contact with Turkish authorities, monitoring both Hakimdzhonova’s health and the progress of the investigation.
