Uzbek TV to purchase and show foreign content

The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On additional measures on filling air of TV and radio channels of National TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan with high TV and radio products”.

The resolution provided right to the NTRC to sign import agreements on purchasing licenses for foreign TV and radio products without organization of tenders to air in local media.

The decision of the Creative Council, created in line with the order of NTRC, will be foundation for signing of the agreements.

NTRC will finance expenses, related to purchase of licenses, due to budget and off-budget resources of the company.

The Uzbek Government recommended Central Bank in cooperation with the authorized banks to provide hard currency to purchase licensed foreign content.
