Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A working group consisting of representatives of Uzbekneftegaz JSC visited a number of enterprises that are part of the Ministry of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran and got acquainted with their activities.
In particular, a meeting was held at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) with the director of external relations, Muhammad Muhammadi-pour.
During the conversation, information was provided on the transformation processes carried out today in the Republic of Uzbekistan by oil and gas and chemical companies, large investment projects, production capabilities of enterprises, technological chemical clusters under construction.
In turn, Iran provided information about NIOC. The enterprises that are part of NIOC operate in the areas of exploration, production, transportation, processing and marketing and are capable of producing 4 million barrels of oil and 500 million cubic meters of gas per day.
During the negotiations, the possibilities of localization and implementation of investment projects aimed at supplying oil and gas raw materials to Uzbekistan, joint processing of oil and gas raw materials were considered.
After that, a meeting was held at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) with the head of the department of external relations, Hussein Alimurad.
During the conversation, the experience of radical reform of the oil industry in Iran over the past three years was studied, in particular, 24 projects were implemented in the Bandar Emam exclusive free economic zone created in the southern regions of Iran, in which 91 million tons of oil were processed in 2021, currently 34 projects are being implemented.
The company has put forward a proposal for the joint implementation of projects in the petrochemical sector with Uzbek companies, for this purpose 7 project proposals have been prepared. These projects include the production of methanol, ammonia, propylene and polypropylene.
In particular, the National Petrochemichal Company, NPC localized 35 types of catalysts, 85 types (US$275 million) or 73% (US$200 million) used to produce propylene and polypropylene from natural gas or methanol. For this, 5 types of national "know-how" and licenses developed by Iranian companies (or 8 percent) are used.
The next meeting was organized with Gurar Khan, Marketing Director of TAPPICO, and Muhammad Asadzoda, Planning Director under the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Iran.
At the meeting, this company presented its experience in the field of marketing. To date, the company has more than 85 manufacturing enterprises, exports polymers of various grades, acetic acid, methanol, car tires, bitumen, cellulose.
The capabilities of such enterprises as Pasargad Oil Co. were demonstrated – 3.4 thousand tons of bitumen, Iranol Co. – 634 thousand tons of fuels and lubricants and antimony materials, Latif Paper Co. - 20.5 thousand tons of pulp.
It should be noted that in order to establish cooperation, representatives of local enterprises are provided with detailed information on the production capacities of Uzbekneftegaz enterprises, the range of imported products, and transformation processes.
