Uzbek, South Korean leaders hold telephone conversation

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the telephone conversation was held on initiative of the South Korean side.

Hwang Kyo-ahn congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev with his landslide victory in the presidential elections, which were held in December 2016.

The sides exchange congratulations in connection with the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between two states.

The leaders underlined high level of mutual trust, openness and mutual understanding between Uzbekistan and Republic of Korea with satisfaction. They underlined that this serves as strong foundation for expanding cooperation in political, trade-economic, financial-technical, investment, cultural-humanitarian spheres.

During the talks, the sides exchanged opinion on perspectives of the Uzbek-South Korean relations. The sides expressed mutual interest to expand number of joint high technological projects in various areas.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Hwang Kyo-ahn affirmed their commitment to the principles of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership, signed in 2006. They stressed the importance of further filling it with new content, taking into account the considerable potential.

Leaders of two states said that the sides should complete construction of Korean Culture and Art House in Tashkent in short-period of time. It is expected that the House will be launched in 2018.

Hwang Kyo-ahn invited President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit the Republic of Korea with the official visit.
